{ Dane & Corey }

Diving into the whole photography thing more has been on my mind for awhile and I think this session just might have been the push I need to actually go for it instead of thinking about it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. About a month and a half ago I was able to take my brother-in-law Dane and his fiance Corey's engagement pictures. Honestly I was actually more nervous about taking their pictures than I ever let on but once this cute couple was ready and I had that camera turned on I had one quick trigger finger with that button.
These two dated for a bit in high school but I guess it jut wasn't the right time. After Dane graduated they still had all those cute mushy feelings so they started dating again. Corey was going to BYU Provo to become a Spanish Teacher and shortly later Dane left to serve his mission in Brazil. They wrote each other like crazy during those two long years. Once Dane got back the week before Christmas all those cute mushy feelings were still there (after Dane really realized he wasn't on his mission still so it was okay to look at Corey and think she was beautiful...ha ha...we all teased him a little about that). They were engaged the week of Valentines Day and we did their engagement session beginning of March. I think Dane and Corey would have been up for pretty much anything I suggested but I knew they wanted a more simple rustic setting. We were up in Ashton, ID the morning of their session for a volleyball tournament so it was pretty perfect to do their photos up there. Ashton, ID = rustic! Perfect! Here are some of mine and their favorite shots...

First, some train station photos in some classy pencil skirt attire. Let's just say getting to the train itself was way trickier than we were expecting. It had rained/snowed the night before and the train station was right by an area that was all mud and water. Mud does not mix well with high heels. Dane carried her wherever he could but it was still a little tricky.
I suggested Dane lift Corey and they were so determined to get this shot

Lastly, on our way back to Rexburg we stopped at an old barn I saw earlier that morning on the way into Ashton. Luckily it was in the middle of this last location that it started to rain. Corey really wanted to have some pictures in the rain so she was way excited but unfortunately it didn't rain enough for it to really look like they were wet from the rain itself. So, Corey and Dane decide to get each other wet enough so you could tell. Which meant cold water being splashed all over Corey's hair. It really was pretty cold. I was cold and I was even wearing a coat! Not really a surprise there though. I'm shocked Corey didn't get sick afterwards.

future Abercrombie & Fitch models right here...j/k

Now I think I got a little over ambitious because total I put together 12 difference announcements for them to choose from. Mind you with those 12 there's about 3 main photos so the rest are difference variations with the main photo. Oops! Oh well, it was fun anyway. Helped me learn a few new things to try.

Oh and I almost forgot. They're getting married June 6th, 2012! And when I officially found out that they had set that date it was exactly two weeks ago on Wednesday, making their wedding date in 2 weeks exactly! They'd been trying to set a date for a couple months and apparently they just didn't want to wait any longer. Not even til June 16th like all the family suggested. The announcement wouldn't load for some reason but here is the insert for the sealing ceremony...

  1. I absolutely love your photos! I think you are very talented and have a knack for photography! We should get together and "practice"! You can take some of my girls, I'll take some of them, and we can take some of each other! It would be a blast! What do you think about that? How did the wedding go? Did you do the photos for that, too? Can't wait to see what else you might have up your sleeve with photography!
