On the way there it was kind of a struggle just for the fact that it was so windy. We went through almost 3 tanks of gas just to get there because of some crazy 40 mph winds (luckily we were driving the work truck and Fish & Game paid for it all cause it was a lot of money). Basically we got about 8 mpg at some point. Ugh! First we went straight to Nampa to the tree farm to pick up a bunch of Juniper trees and when I say a bunch I meant we picked up and transported 1,270 Juniper trees! Now these aren't anything close to being fully grown trees. Some were barely a foot tall. That's how we were able to get so many in the trailer.
we took a bunch of these trees with us...look at all the skinny ones in the background
After we got all the trees loaded we made our way back into the middle of Nampa to find our hotel. We unhooked the trailer so we could roam around without it, checked into our hotel, which can I just say was a pretty great hotel, (that Fish & Game paid for.....score!), and headed back out to do a couple fun things. And might I just say, I convinced Jordan to go to Hobby Lobby!!! Well, actually I convinced Jordan to go to Dick's Outdoor Sports while I went to Hobby Lobby. We were running short on time so I think I was only there for maybe 30 minutes and unfortunately I only made it through like 1/3 of the entire gigantic store but I still came out with a couple great items. Like a giant button which sounds really odd but I love decorating with oversized stuff and some fun fabric to make myself another scripture case. Thank you Cherika for my gift certificate! Perfect Christmas/birthday present! Next we made a quick pit stop in Shopko to find a couple swimming suits. We didn't bring ours because the hotel website said this one didn't have a pool. Um...liars! We took care of that problem quickly.

Then we were hoping to go to Red Lobster and use our gift certificate that we've had forever but they were packed. Along with Red Robin and practically every other place we wanted to go so we finally decided on Smashburger. It was tasty, not as good as Five Guys, but tasty and I think slightly overpriced. But hey Fish & Game is probably going to pay for that as well so who can complain?
Finally we made it back to the hotel, swam a bit, watched a movie, and went to bed. Personally I think being in a car for hours is tiring, Jordan says he disagrees but this is coming from the one that was out like a light in a matter of minutes : )
The next morning we got up a little earlier, ate a great continental breakfast, and hit the road once again. That is, after we stopped at Cabella's for Jordan. I figured since he let me go into Hobby Lobby I'd make sure he got to go to Cabella's. Although somehow he made it out empty handed and I didn't? We made it back about 2:30 pm and went straight to the north side of the lake to unload all the trees for the guys, packed a few more clothes and headed into Rexburg.
Anyways, all in all it was a fantastic weekend with the hubby! I told the bishop he could find someone else that needed trees so my hubby and I could have another weekend getaway together. I sure do love this man of mine! It kind of brought me back to our dating days a bit. Those days when we were both giddy and always fall into each others eyes so deeply. Making me melt is a specialty of his. I am one blessed lady! It was so great it just being the two of us for awhile. It may sound a little mean but being away from all the normal people and things that make up our daily lives was so great! I love my hubby!

I'm jealous that you had a getaway with just you and Jordan. I feel like I need a getaway with just me & James... But it looks like you had a blast! And you totally deserved it. ;) We miss you, and hopefully we can get together soon!!
