I don't know about everyone else but I still can't believe it's 2011 and it's already the day before my birthday! It didn't even feel like we had a December 2010. I mean seriously, where did December 2010 go? I must have blinked because it's come and gone. Crazy!
Mine and Jordan's New Year's celebrating began with us staying the night at his parent's in Rexburg. My best friend Cherika had flown in to be with her mom, two brothers, and sister for Christmas at a cabin in Island Park but shortly after getting back to her mom's in Pocatello her and her brother Zach decided to take a trip up to Rexburg to see me! How sweet is that? Anyways, New Year's Eve I met Cherika and Zach at Jamba Juice for some quick catch-up time. I unfortunately have fallen a little short of being a good friend this year and gave Cherika her Christmas gift on New Year's Eve : \ So basically we just chatted for about an hour and a half in Jamba (pretty sure the girls working that day were getting a kick out of our converstations), Cherika opened her gift, her and Zach left to do some shopping in Idaho Falls, and I went to do a few errands (one of which wasn't really an errand because it was going to Porter's to check on some hopeful sale items so I guess that one might not count).
I don't think Cherika knows that her taking the time to go out of her way up to visit me really meant a lot. Her and I have been best friends ever since 7th grade when she moved to Shelley. And I know this is going to sound totally cheesy but I'm gonna say it anyways gol-darn-it. Cherika and I have been through a lot together. There's the older memories of us having sleepovers at her first house in Woodville prank calling certain people who shall remain nameless : ) then getting older and doing cheerleading together, dealing with a whole truck load of family issues, going our separate ways for a few years for college, re-uniting as roommates for a semester, and now graduating and entering the "real world."
Then later that night to celebrate Jordan's aunt Tracy, uncle Jake, and cousins Shayne and Brooklynn came up with a friend to eat all sorts of food that just adds to the scale and play lots of games to bring in 2011! I don't remember the last time we played games with anyone else but immediate family but it was so so much fun! I love to play games (except ones that require acting) and it was even more fun to play them with family that likes them just as much.
It's so weird to think that it's 2011 now but I think we got it off to a great start. I wonder what 2011 will bring? Hopefully all things good. With the good I hope to cherish and take in every second. If there's also some bad in between I hope to learn and grow from it. If there's some tears I hope to make them count and live 2011 to the fullest.

Happy Birthday, Danyel! You are an amazing friend. Truly sincere, and (this may sound cheesy, too...) but I really am glad I have you as a friend! Sometimes I feel like a flake or something, but I honestly think of you as my best friend (other than James, of course, which is a given). We need to invite you guys down to Blackfoot to have some fun sometime! We'd love it. I hope your day is wonderful! Love ya, girl!
