Well some may already know but Jordan, myself, and Wyatt moved out of Mud Lake. Sad day! No really we're super sad about it! We've lived out there for the last 4 1/2 years and absolutel loved it. The community, our ward, the peace and quite, the lake, the wildlife, everything! About the only thing we didn't like so much was the drive into town, any town...ha ha!
Jordan met with his boss and his boss' boss beginning of February and talked a lot about Jordan as an employee and his future with Fish & Game. Everyone at Fish & Game really likes Jordan and really values him as an employee. He's probably the hardest worker I know and it's definetely shown with Fish & Game. In the end they basically want him to become even more valuable as an employee and even more versatile so he'll be starting work for the fisheries area within Fish & Game next month instead of habitat. Even though we're super sad to leave Mud Lake it'll be a good thing and is in fact a compliment showing how much Fish & Game values Jordan as an employee. Eventually we're really hoping to move back out to Mud Lake but for now, unfortunately, it's adios : (
So taking that into consideration we had to pack, and pack, and pack, and pack some more. Jordan and I tried to pack as much as we could leading up to the final days of being in our house but between the two of us, Jordan's parents, two brothers, Macie, and Jordan's friend Tom, two horse trailors, and multiple trips back and forth from Mud Lake to Rexburg it got done. I don't know how it got done but it did. I was only able to go to the house to pack and clean a little maybe 4 different days for a few hours. Jordan went back probably 12 times. And that's not including all the help from Craig, Dustin, and Kelly that did SO much when I wasn't even there. Seriously, we couldn't have done it without them. I think we would have been there for 3 weeks straight if it would have been up to just the two of us. And we've come to one really big conclusion...WE HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF!!! Seriously, holy cow! Where did it all come from? I knew I had a lot of stuff but wow, I had no idea exactly how much. Jordan took a couple trips to the DI but we still have a lot of stuff. I wish I would have taken a couple days off or just done something so that I could have sorted through everything better and hopefully gotten rid of more. Oh ya one more thing...totes are movers best friend! Moving was a lot easier with having a lot of totes to put the majority of our stuff in to get moved. They made it easier to sort, pack, move, and store so if you ever have to move and can find a good deal on some totes...do it!
To be honest I think our washer and dryer are still at the Mud Lake house but other than that we've gotten everything else out and either to Jordan's parent's house or into our storage unit in Rexburg. Yep, that's right, we're currently living with Jordan's parent's in Rexburg. I know that makes it sound like it's absolutely horrible and that I hate it but I promise I don't. A lot of the time it's actually been fun and I'm definetely getting a lot of help with Wyatt so that's awesome! And my driving time to and from work is cut in half! Yay! I'm surprised how big of a difference that alone has made with my sleep. That's been pretty great! But to be honest I just don't think it's a good idea to live with your in-laws and/or parent's when you're married let alone when you're married with a family of your own. But on an exciting note, Jordan and I are looking to buy a house! It'll be our very first home! Well, our first home that we actually own I guess. We're hoping to stay around Rexburg, Sugar Salem, Plano, Hibbard area would be ideal. What can I say I'm from a small town and Jordan and I have just loved living in a small town the last few years. So of course every day at work I'm online looking for houses even though we're not quite ready to buy yet. It's interesting though. About 70% of what is for sale right now is in Rigby and out of the other 30% that isn't in Rigby is either a townhouse or condo, is either super run-down, or way too expensive. And we have 2 horses and 2 dogs. Clearly a townhouse or condo isn't going to work (plus it would absolutely drive Jordan completely insane to live in town surrounded by neighbors) for horses and not so much with two dogs either. Idealy we'd like a decent size house that still has some room for our family to grow a little, with a couple acres, and either a large garage and/or shop for cars and possibly Jordan's taxidermy business. We've found a few that'd be about perfect but so far 2 out of the 3 have already sold. So far we're not having much luck finding very many with what we're needing. Homes that have a couple acres is proving to be a little bit of a dilema, but hopefully when we're ready to buy something will become available. Considering our budget we'll probably go for something that has some land but is a little bit of a fixer-upper.
We're excited for this chapter in our lives but nervous/scared/unsure at the same time. Here's to hoping some great little house in a nice area comes our way!
