So, time for some honesty. Part of the reason behind this post is because Jordan is gone for work this week and I'm a little bored but the other part is because a decent amount of my thoughts and focus has been on this..................... (viewer discretion may be advised)..............
sorry for the rather large picture of my feet
Now, first off, this picture really really really does not do my feet or the pain I've been having justice. Friday night Jordan, myself, and his family went to the north side of the lake to go camping for one night. Sounds fun right? NOT! Well, okay, yes it was fun. Until I got home Saturday afternoon when my legs and feet slowly turned the color of a stop light. Bright red! The actual pain didn't set in until Saturday night so at least that was something. And by Sunday after church my feet and ankles were swelling up but if you look at the picture closer (and I guess you had to have seen my ankles and feet before) my ankles and feet are swollen! And get this......I was only sitting in the sun for 30 minutes! Pathetic I tell ya!
Oh and it gets better. I asked one of the nurses I've kind of been working with for the past month to take a look at my burns. Her and another nurse in the same department agree that they look like 2nd degree burns! Yep, you heard right. Thirty minutes later and I get a 2nd degree sunburn! Now, I knew my legs were white and nearly transparent, but 30 minutes and 2nd degree burns? Really?! So for the past two days at work the same nurse I had look at the burns (such an amazingly nice woman), has been getting me ice packs to strap to my legs throughout the day to help with the swelling. Apparently being Irish and Japanese I'm genetically not meant to have color on my legs. So if you're into Mountain View this week and some girl walks by looking like there's 5 inch pins at about knee height, her calves are as big as her thighs, while making a sloshing sound as she walks. Don't be alarmed!
And I also have to admit that Jordan and his mom were right. They kept telling me I should probably get in some shade so I don't burn and as you can tell, I didn't listen. But in my defense, it was only 30 minutes! Now I have lots of aloe, ibrofen, and ice in my near future. So, if you're a white girl with nearly transparent legs, wear sunscreen no matter how long you're outside. Trust me. You'll thank me later.

Haha! Oh, Dannel! :) That doesn't look so fun. That reminds me of a story from our lives here... A week & a half ago, Kiely & I went to "help" DaNae & Kevin with the special olympics here in Blackfoot they were volunteering for. Kiely got FRIED! I felt so bad. I forgot the sunscreen, and to put it on her before. It was only a couple hours later... and she also spent some time in the sun later that day... she was our little lobster baby! We put after sun on it (It's a Melaleuca product) which helped a lot, and it turned into a tan, but now it's peeling pretty good! (I think she will eventually just tan, but for now, I have to remember the sunscreen!)
